Primary Function: To assist the QA Supervisor in managing the quality and food safety systems at the plant level which include all policies, programs, and procedures. The QA Technician will have primary responsibilities of the HACCP Programs, GMPs, SSOP Programs, Paperwork and Filing, all QA Programs, and Enforcement of Product Specifications. 

**This is a second shift position! We offer bonus incentives at 30 & 90 days. 

Essential Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To: 

1.Monitors all HACCP Programs in the plant to ensure regulatory compliance. 

2.GMPs: 

A. Monitors GMPs in the plant and assures strict adherence to the program. 

B. Records deficiencies and reports these deficiencies to the QA Supervisor and Plant Manager. 

C. Communicates these deficiencies to line personnel in a stern but respectful manner. 

3.SSOP Programs: 

A. Monitors all SSOP Programs in the plant to ensure regulatory compliance and food safety. 

B. Records deficiencies and reports these deficiencies to the QA Supervisor and Plant Manager. 

C. Communicates these deficiencies to sanitation personnel (Pre-op) and to production personnel (Operational). 

4.Paperwork Accuracy and Filing: 

A. Record data accurately and legible. 

B. Files all paperwork in accordance with the QA Supervisor’s direction. 

5.Enforcement of QA Programs: 

A. Monitors all QA Programs in the plant. 

-Enforces programs in the plant. 

-Corrects all issues in accordance to QA Programs. 

-Follows up on issues and makes sure proper corrective actions take place. 

-Communicates these issues to QA Supervisor and Plant Manager. 

6.Enforcement of Product Specifications: 

A. Monitors all products through the process (Includes Raw & RTE). 

B. Verifies that products are within the specification. 

C. Helps correct specification deviation with interaction with production personnel. 

D. Stops line if deviation is not corrected and the specification limits are met. 

E. Communicates these deviations to production personnel. 

Communicates these deviations to QA Supervisor and Plant Manager. 

G. Communicates any changes needed to specifications to QA Supervisor. 

Education and/or Experience: 

1.Preferred: Minimum of 2 years previous experience in food processing / manufacturing environment. 

2.Preferred: Previous QA Lead Technician experience. 

3.Knowledge of Quality processes and systems including but not limited to: HACCP, SSOPs, and GMPs. 

4.Intermediate level computer skills. 

5.Ability to communicate to all levels of staff and management. 

6.High energy, Self-starter, and ability to work and complete work in a timely manner. 

7.High level of organizational skills. 

8.Ability to stand ground and enforce policies/programs/specifications. 

9.Bilingual English/Spanish a plus. English required. 

Physical Requirements: Stand 75% of shift in wet/cold and/or hot environment. May be exposed to aroma of spices used in cooking. May be exposed to dust particles in the air. Lift up to 15 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds infrequently.
