The Driver/Shipping Loader will be responsible for the delivery of manufactured production and helping to prepare freight by wrapping and loading onto trucks for transporation. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Driving Duties 

  • Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of vehicles. 

  • Responsible for delivering the correct product to our customers. 

  • Responsible for completing all required paperwork accurately. 

  • Makes inspection of vehicles as required by company policy and law to ensure the vehicle is safe to operate and has ample quantities of fuel, oil and water. 

  • Complies with all regulations, rules and company procedures while performing job duties. 

  • Reports all road hazards observed en route. 

  • Makes delivery or pickup of freight en route, obtaining signed receipts, collecting and signing for freight as instructed. 

  • Ensuring accurate product count, and loading and securing return merchandise when authorized. 

  • Immediately, reports all accidents and/or incidents, including DOT roadside inspections, in which involved, regardless of extent of damage or injury. 

  • At the end of each trip, reports the condition of the equipment used. 

Shipping Loader Duties 

  • Stage product to be loaded onto truck. 

  • Ability to barcode scan and reconcile productions on shipping carts. 

  • Use compupter programs to download scanned data into computer. 

  • Know and practice corporate, plant, and department safety policies. 

  • Maintain a clean, safe work area free from debris on floor, racks, dock areas, and trailers. 

  • Meet overtime requirements. 

  • Meet team, department, and plant goals. 

  • Meet the needs of internal and external customers. 

  • Perform accuracy checks as required. 

  • Work independently without direct supervision. 

  • Adhering to all required PPE rules. 

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma. 

Required Certification/Licensure: 

  • Must be at least 21 years of age. 

  • Must possess the proper driver’s license for the vehicle applying to drive, in the state of current residence. 

  • Must have no convictions for DUI within the past 7 years. 

  • Must have no convictions for reckless driving within the past 3 years. 

  • Must have no suspensions or revocations within the past 5 years. 

  • Must have had no serious violations within the previous 12 months (15 mph or greater, following too close, improper passing, traffic offense committed in a CMV in connection with a fatality). 

  • Must have no more than 1 moving violation within the past 12 months. 

  • Must have no more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years. 

  • Must pass road test. 

  • Must not be currently involved in any pending court action that would disqualify applicant from employment. 

  • Must have no felony convictions within the last 10 years (must be paroled or on probation for at least 5 years). Cannot have been convicted of murder, aggravated assault, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and/or distribute, manslaughter, rape, sexual assault, or assault with a deadly weapon. 

  • Must be able to follow instructions. 

  • Must not have had drug and/or alcohol positive test or refusal to test. 

Work Experience Requirements: 

  • Minimum - Must have two (2) years of truck driving experience or have graduated from a recognized driving school. 

  • Prefeered - 5 Years of truck driving experience. 

Special Requirements: 

  • Must be able to lift/carry (load and unload) materials up to 75 pounds; communicate efficiently and effectively on the telephone, radio or in person; complete required paperwork. Must be able to drive assigned vehicle for prolonged periods of time in all weather conditions. 

  • Team oriented. 

  • Strong communication skills. 

  • Must be able to read a tape measure and work under the leadership of the departmental supervisor, manager and or group leader. 

  • Good organization skills. 

  • Carpentry skills a plus. 

  • Aptitude to learn and become proficient with Thermal Windows & Doors products. 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be able to lift/carry materials up to 75lbs, move about the work site, turn on and operate a computer in the applicable environment, communicate efficiently on the telephone or in person. Exposed to noise and dust in manufacturing plant and warehouse environment. Requires prolonged periods of standing and walking. Subject to long, irregular hours. 

Travel Requirements: 

  • No overnight stays requrired. Local driving route.
