We are an abortion clinic group that provides abortions up through all gestations of pregnancy. This position is best suited for a person who is enthusiastic and/or desiring to learn about abortion care. 

Position: Patient Care Technician 

Our ideal candidate would have the following: High school diploma or the equivalent (required), ability to speak, read, write English and Spanish, one year of experience in a clinical setting. 

Job duties and responsibilities for every staff member include full knowledge of: 

Office tasks and reception 

  • Appointment making 

  • Filing charts 

  • Requesting medical records and/or scheduling patients for referrals 

  • Charting medical information 

  • Following up with patients regarding their care 

  • Checking patients in and out 

  • Requesting and receiving payments 

  • Allocating abortion funding appropriately 

  • Opening and/or closing clinic 

  • Ability to thoroughly explain medication abortions, dilation and curettage abortions, extraction abortions, and induction abortions. 

Lab Work 

  • Basic vitals 

  • Venipuncture (blood draws) 

Sanitation/Cleaning 

  • Clean and sterilize medical instruments 

  • Cleaning office and operating rooms daily and weekly as part of the team 

Procedure Assist 

  • Physically assisting patients and physicians during any/all abortion procedure 

  • Administer medications and injections (if trained and registered as medication aide) 

  • Pathological examination of pregnancy tissue (embryonic& fetal) upon abortion completion 

  • Verbally communicating with patients during their abortions and providing any support they may need. 

Requirements 

  • All potential employees must agree to criminal background and registry checks. This is required for consideration in obtaining employment at CARE - Maryland. 

  • Certification for medication aide and CPR are required to be obtained within the first 90 days. 

  • Other tasks as assigned from management.

Starting rate of at least $20.00 Compensation may be based on experience.
