We are an established grout and aggregate company in the Katy/Brookshire area and we are seeking a qualified, hard working, and dependable QC technician to add to our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2-4 years experience working doing QC in a similar field, prepared and willing to learn about our specific products, and demonstrate that they will want to grow with our company. Below is the information about the job.

Quality Control and Testing

• Collect and/or prepare aggregates and asphalt samples for analysis.
• Perform laboratory tests at various points throughout civil construction projects, and report test data in a complete and timely manner.
• Using a nuclear gauge or coring, conduct density testing of road surfaces.
• Perform batch plant inspections to ensure proper mix properties.
• Visually inspect aggregates for clay, shale and/or soft rock
• Apply unit price adjustments to segregation, asphalt contents, density, gradation and smoothness, and ensure that proper specifications are applied to each of these items.
• Ensure that all testing equipment is functioning properly; ensuring that all calibrated equipment is calibrated within its calibration cycle.
• Conduct, document and file plant calibrations.
• Test loose mix to confirm plant calibration, analyzing mix temperature, asphalt cement content, mix moisture content, gradation, density of lab compacted mix and volumetric properties.
• Update and maintain the Quality Control FTP site.
• Act as a technical advisor on quality control related issues, throughout civil construction projects. • Liaise between Quality Control and the Operational Management team.
• Supervise and direct other lab personnel, such as Quality Control Technicians.
• Conducting Marshall and MTD tests to determine density, air voids, VMA and VFA. • Other Quality Control and Testing duties as required.
• Must ensure a solid understanding of, and comply with the principles of the company's Code of Ethics.
• Must examine situations in light of the principles of the Code of Ethics. Safety
• Promote, execute and adhere to the company's safety program, and encourage all employees to do the same.

Job Requirements
• Able to pass a pre employment drug screening and go through a background check (no felonies in last 7 years, no violent offences)

• Live no more than 20 miles from job site
• Have 2-4 years experience doing QC on similar products (grout, cement, aggregate, ect)
• Be a self starter with a hard work ethic!
• Shows willingness to learn and to grow within our company
• Be reliable and trustworthy
